Bookish Gift Ideas

kait's bookshelf bookish giftsJanuary has started off to a much stronger start than December did, and I’m so thankful for the time to read and get back into the swing of things. Today’s post will be my list of gift ideas for bookish individuals. I had planned on posting this list closer to the holidays, however, December took an unexpected turn and I didn’t get to share my ideas. But bookish gifts are always a great idea, not just for the holidays. They make great birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, thank you gifts, and “just because” gifts. So, here they are…my round-up of bookish gift ideas for yourself or the book lovers in your life.

Literary Book Gifts

This new online gift store offers a variety of literature-themed merchandise including t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags for men and women. I’ve reviewed a t-shirt and tote bag in past posts. For 20% off, you can use code KAITSBOOKSHELF20 at checkout.

Open Book Chocolates

Open Book Chocolates offers literary-inspired candy bars in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate. Classics like Alice in Wonderland, Pride & Prejudice, and A Christmas Carol are available in delicious candy bars, perfect for the book lover who enjoys a little something sweet while reading.

Thriftbooks and Wonder Book

These are two of my favorite online used book stores. You can get really great deals on used books, like-new books, and collectibles with perks like free shipping and rewards points to be used toward future book buying.

Adagio Teas

I’ve never met a book lover who doesn’t also love coffee or tea. Adagio teas use fresh tea leaves to make iced teas. They offer black teas, green teas, chai teas, oolong teas, white teas, and herbal teas. You can also purchase tea storage, tea kettles, tea makers, and tea accessories. Tea-ware is also available in glass, ceramic, cast iron, and other options.

Barnes and Noble

If you or a loved one prefer shopping in person rather than online, check out your local Barnes and Noble. I do often shop small and local businesses, but there is something I love about going to my local Barnes and Noble to sip coffee or tea at the café, read, and browse the shelves. I also love their sale sections and enjoy the discount and coupons I receive from my membership. So I’ve been making it a point to split my time between local shops and B&N. If you know someone looking for a new reading spot or who just enjoys browsing books with a hot beverage in hand, consider buying them a Barnes and Noble gift card or membership.

Cozy Items

Book lovers enjoy curling up with good books. So any kind of soft, warm blanket, cozy socks, or slippers is usually a great idea. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up in something comfy and getting cozy with a cup of tea or coffee and a good book. Any kind of cozy item will usually do the trick, but if you want literary themed items, a quick google search will bring up plenty of online shops with literary-themed clothing and household items. Coffee cups or tea cups are also pretty safe gift ideas as well as creative bookmarks.
